I've put my foot down with Ky & the potty. He doesn't get to watch cartoons unless he uses the potty. He went a FULL day without any cartoons (kinda a big deal with Ky). Today he finally came around to it and only had 2 accidents :).
Sophie is in the process of loosing the paci..I found a meathod online that says most kids give it up within 7 days of the starting date. Basically on days 1 &2 you poke holes in the paci, days 3-4 you clip more off the ends. day 5 you clip it vertically and keep goin till there's nothing left. She was already not happy with me before bed when i gave it to her clipped.

mmm..Chicken & Dumplings
Ingredients:
1lb chicken breast (doesn't have to be boneless/skinless)
10 chicken bouillon cubes
8 cups water
2 stalks celery
2 table spoons butter
2 cups bisquick
2/3 cup milk
salt & pepper
Place chicken & bouillon in a large pot, cover with 2 quarts of water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and let simmer until chicken is fully cooked. I had think pieces of chicken, so mine took around 25-30 minutes.
When the chicken is almost done combine the bisquick and milk, mix until a soft dough forms.
When the chicken is done, remove and set aside to cool. Drop spoonfuls of dough into the chicken stock. Turn heat to low and let simmer for 10 minutes covered, then 10 more minutes uncovered. I ended up having to flip my dumplings over so the top side cooked with maybe 5 minutes remaining.
While the dumplings are cooking, chop the celery. I also chopped up some onion as well. In a small pan melt butter, once butter is frothy place in your veggies. While your veggies are sauteing shred the chicken. Add the chicken and salt and pepper (to taste) to the veggie mix once the veggies are cooked.
By this time your dumplings should be done. Add the chicken/veggies to the dumplings. Mix & enjoy.
*the original recipe also had you boil 4 eggs and chop the whites and combine that to the soup also, but that just sounded nasty to me, so I omitted that part :)

Lunch
Yum! We had the BEST lunch today. I found a recipe for Southwest Wontons..I turned em into egg rolls because I figured they'd be easier for Ky to eat. I altered the recipe to what my kids would eat..I took out the cilantro & ranch, added corn, and instead of canned chicken I used some left over chicken from a previous dinner. AND they only took 15 minutes!

I have a feeling..
I have a feeling that Jer's ship shut down e-mail for a while. During our last phone conversation he said that the command sent out an email to all the sailors telling them that they were violating OPSEC with all the info people were giving out. I haven't gotten an email since that night :(.
IF that is the case, I feel bad for Jer cause I'm sure he's fuming over it.

USS Fort McHenry
So, while searching for any info I could find about Jer's ship, I found this:
This photograph was taken on February 12. Kyin's birthday. The day Jer worked 22 hours. It was taken while they were "conducting operations off the coast of Haiti".

thinking, waiting, wishing...
So, it's been 3 days since I've heard from Jer. This blows! I know that if anything happened I would have heard about it by now..but it still has me worried.
On a happier note, Sophie has become more verbal..she now says owl, bird, hi, momma, ky and dada. It seems she's learning SO much every day! Crazy.

Phone call..
Happy Valentines Day to me, I got a phone call from Jer today!! :) He seems in better spirits than he was last week. He said his long days should be over with for a while..hopefully anyway. They got to pull into port somewhere and get off the ship and hit up the NEX..and what does he buy?? A case of Redbull, among other things. I hope that CASE lasts him untill he comes home!

big girl :(
So, last night Sophie started standing up by herself (going from sitting to standing with out holding onto the couch or anything) and walking all through the house. She's getting too big too fast!! She's also saying more words..like owl and bird (because of her owl tree). She's pretty much a toddler now, and not a baby. :(

The Sailors want answers!
Apparently the crew members of Jer's ship wanted to know when they would be coming home. The quote they got "Let us get you up to speed on when we will go home, we know nothing. You are now up to speed".
Great.
Great.

Phone Call!
Kyin & I got a phone call from Jerrad today! He had originally planned on calling on the kids birthdays, but they are starting him on 18 hour days-so that's not going to happen. It was nice to hear his voice and for Kyin to finally talk to him! Normally when Jer call's Ky won't talk to him on the phone. So Daddy got to hear some I miss you's and I love you's from Kyin bear. I hope it brightened his day a little.
Goodbye Gramma Great
Jerrad's Grandma Maxine lost her battle with cancer today. The doctors originally gave her not even until Thanksgiving..she held her ground for a while. Hopefully the Red Cross will be able to get Jer home for the burial this spring.
We will miss you Gramma Great!

Congrats Jer!
I just recieved an e-mail from Jerrad, and his command accepted the paper work for his PO3! So, hopefully by April (or sooner) Jerrad will be an EN3 (Petty Officer 3rd class)! I am very proud of my husband!!
He put his foot down.
We are officially off the potty train. Kyin has "decided" that he wants nothing to do with it..again. Hopefully we'll be back on soon.
